Verified fact · 3 August 2026
CME announced plans for E-nano futures on the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000 and Dow Jones. The release described contracts one tenth the size of Micro E-minis and a proposed 24 August launch, pending regulatory review. This article explains the original announcement; it does not treat that proposal as proof that the launch occurred.
Chezur educational interpretation
When a new product appears, distinguish announcement, authorisation and actual availability. Consult the contract specification and the relevant exchange notice before reusing units from another contract. A similar name does not establish its multiplier, increment or expiry, and those fields need separate verification.
A reduced size provides an exposure calculation exercise but does not establish suitability for an individual. Compare documented units and costs. Do not infer liquidity, execution quality or availability at your broker from promotional wording. Record the questions still unanswered by the source.
An instrument reference exercise
Create fields for symbol, multiplier, increment, effective date and verified status. Leave unconfirmed fields empty. Add another source when you need evidence of a later status change; a planned date and an actual launch date are different facts.
The institutional announcement dates from 3 August 2026; the Chezur explanation was published and reviewed on 12 October. It does not announce E-nano support in Chezur: the available public demo still uses synthetic scenarios presented as NQ.
